Registration

This is the easiest part. Simply assign each car a consecutive racing number as they are checked in. This number should be placed on the car using a self adhesive tag (I will provide pre-numbered stickers to be placed on the cars). Place the number either on the back or top of the car, not on the bottom. Placing the tag consistently at one end of the car will assist in determining which way the car should be placed on the track. Cars should be registered in and assigned a number as they arrive. Be sure to record the group that each car will be racing in. It is neither necessary nor desirable to register groups separately. My program will determine what groups are present and, if desired, run cars only within their groups. By far, the simplest mode is to allow the computer to randomly assign cars to lanes. In either case, the program assures that every car will run once in each of the 4 lanes. Before racing can begin, I will need a listing containing car #, name of owner and group designation (up to 5 characters).

At the end of the race, the computer will sort the cars by whatever groups you have designated. Even though cars of one group race cars of a different group, the cars will be rated with cars of the same group. Adult, sibling or other cars may be registered and run along with the regular races since the computer will sort them out in the reports.

Once racing has begun, late arrivals must be entered and raced at the end of the event. Adding cars after racing has begun changes the lane assignments and will result in invalid racing results.
